This book is not about lost in the woods story. It is out from the woods feeling from young adults who move to a new neighborhood. I grew up in the neighborhood nearby two world famous research universities. As a young kid, I remember, every start of school year, my teacher will introduce us a few new comers who were going to join our class. But I never personally experience being a new kid in town until I had to move out of state for my undergrad.
This house is not as good as our old house. I want to go back” 當然我心中想到也是回到我原本的”城市”。
After hours ride to the campus, I remember it might be just exact the same feeling as what this illustration was shown below when I step out the car. “This place is not as good as our old place. I want to go back”
First few weeks, I was super homesick and not really wanted to attend social gatherings but only classes.
A few weeks later, like this book ending, I realize somehow in our life time, we are always moving around and will need to establish new friendship with new people. Old pals are good but adding a few more new pals won’t hurt our existing friendship. Life is always expanding.
Be open minded when our new life chapter starts……..
